Holman Ranch Wedding by Soiree by Simone Lennon Featured in Style Me Pretty
We snagged a cover feature on Style Me Pretty this week!
We're so excited to see the beautiful images of Blake and Lily's September Holman Ranch wedding featured. Rightly so, as it was one of the most beautiful and glamorous weddings we had the honor of producing last year and captured by the insanely talented Delbarr Moradi.
From the vintage diamonds and Rolex watch provided by Fourtane Jewelers to the floral perfection to the super glamorous tablecapes, this truly is rustic elegance with a touch of glamour at it's finest. Enjoy!

A Signature Cocktail Inspiration - Orange Mint Julep
It's Friday afternoon...
definitely 5 o'clock somewhere...
a three day holiday weekend...
and almost 70 degrees in San Francisco!
I feel it's only appropriate to post a delicious signature cocktail inspiration.
Since we are deep in the details of many of our summer weddings this season, I'm sharing a cocktail that's fitting for a warm summer day but also packs a punch for the gentleman.
The Orange-Mint Julep is a twist on a classic Mint Julep cocktail but refined enough to serve for any chic affair. This drink is best served during any high point of the citrus season when the fruit it ripe and bright.
As with all details of your wedding, it's all about the presentation - the crystal, the garnish and display. I love the little handheld bottle basket these gorgeous amber glasses that are presented in shown in the image above.
Orange Mint Julep
2/3 cups of sugar
1 cup snipped fresh Mint
1 teaspoon shredded orange peel
2 cups orange juice
2/3 cups lemon juice
1/3 cups of Bourbon (or Vodka)
2 cups water
Directions: Mix sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat; pour over mint leaves. Stir in orange peel, orange juice and lemon juice. Cover. Let stand at room temp for one hour. Strain mixture through a mesh strainer and add liquor. Cover and chill up to 24 hours. Serve over crush iced and garnish with a sprig of mint and slice of a ripe orange.
Cheers!

Olivia & Seth {Real Wedding} Calistoga Ranch, Napa, CA

Being from Texas where large weddings are the norm, it was decided that they would do something a little bit different. Olivia's vision was an intimate destination wedding for only the most important people in California's wine country.
From the start, Olivia had her heart set on an elegant winter affair in one of the most beautiful regions in all of Northern California. It was equally important that the food and wine experience was unsurpassed while still feeling very relaxed. Olivia toured a half a dozen beautiful venues and nothing really felt like it was "the one" until she experienced Calistoga Ranch. The exclusivity, serenity and gorgeous accommodations felt just right, and the vision of having a romantic and warm candlelit dinner was exactly what she was looking for.
One of the biggest reasons why she elected to have an intimate destination wedding was so that she could share the very things she and Seth loved the most with the people whom they love the most.
A full four days of festivities were planned for their forty-five person guest list - a welcome reception at Hotel Yountville, a custom wine blending class, hot air balloon rides, and a fantastic family-style rehearsal dinner at Michael Chiarello's flag ship eatery, Botegga.
When we begin to conceptualize the wedding design, it was important to us that it felt warm, romantic and inviting, but still very connected to the winter season and the environment of Napa Valley. We loved the olive trees that are lush along the Silverado Trail, the hardy nature of succulents and herbs, and all the exposed wood at Calistoga Ranch. Since we used the magical wine cave for both the ceremony and dinner reception, we wanted all floral to be very structured and for the lighting to play a large role throughout the entire event. It was also important that we matched the elegance and formality of Olivia's gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown called "Catherine".
We loved the cool tones and bright contrast of our color palette of white, lavender, slate gray and moss. We also focused on using natural wooden components such as exposed wood kings farm tables, various styles of wooden dining chairs and natural wood floral vessels. To compliment the cool tones, we decided to bring in silver metallic and mercury glass accents in the form of tall taper candlesticks and votive candles to add that special sparkle.
To set a tone of warmth and romance, we flooded the wine cave with hundreds of candles in various vessels such as lanterns, water votives and glass hurricanes. The feeling was so inviting that each guest felt relaxed and excited as they entered the wine cave.
Since the wedding was so close to Christmas, Olivia really wanted to incorporate one of her favorite family holiday traditions into their wedding by giving each guest a special ornament as a take home keepsake. To incorporate this element into her event, we created elegant ornaments made of clear glass spheres filled with Air Plants attached with slate tags with each guests' name and table using white ink calligraphy. The ornaments were then placed on a bed of dried lavender on top of glass trays at the entrance of the dinner reception and were used as escorts and then taken home as favors in custom letter press boxes.
One the most special and beautiful details that we created for Olivia and Seth were our Prayer Scrolls. As a couple, along with their families, have a deep spiritual faith which played a huge role throughout their entire wedding. We asked Olivia to select her favorite scripture about love which we broke into individual lines and had embroidered on to ivory muslin scrolls. As part of the dinner prayer, we placed a single scroll across each guests' dinner place setting and had them recite their line around the room in sequence of the scripture. It was so beautiful to hear the words spoken by each person in their group that was there to celebrate in their union.
After a three course dinner of a Cranberry-Ginger Amuse Bouche, Winter Squash Risotto, Sea Bass and Beef Short Ribs, they danced the night away to the amazing sounds of The Wall Street Band.
It may have been 37 degrees and raining on their wedding day, but only a feeling love and warmth and sounds of laughter exuded from within the wine cave at Calistoga Ranch.
Congratulations to Olivia and Seth.

Vendor Spotlight: Presidio Social Club
As if my job isn't already fun as it is, it somehow gets better when my favorite things and work seem to marry together in harmony.
The Presidio Social Club is one of my most favorite restaurants in San Francisco and that's saying a lot because I get to experience some of the best places the City has to offer. I like it so much, I seem to find any reason to go - out of town client dinners, holidays, girlfriend brunches or to treat my assistants to Mimosas and french fries. I even had my 30th's birthday dinner hosted at PSC for 25 people.
PSC is where comfort food is perfected and meets fine dining at it's best. The service is impeccable, the presentation is gorgeous, but it's also incredibly approachable and relaxed. They use local vendors that supply only the freshest ingredients and are executed to their integrity. For example, they use a dedicated tomato vendor whom they lovingly call, "The Tomato Lady", who supplies them with amazing tomato produce all year round. I was eating the most perfectly tasting tomatoes yesterday in several dishes and not once did I feel I missed out on the taste of summer. This is a total fete considering it's January!
Their signature dishes are sensational, but if you are a true regular, then you know they have some special "secret" upgrades that aren't on the menu. Take their Mac'n'Cheese. It's kind of "to-die-for" and a total MUST if you go, however, I bet you didn't know that you could order it with Lobster, did you? Yes, Ma'am, you can. Another is their amazing Deviled Eggs. That also can be upgraded to add a little luxurious caviar on top, if you so desire (which I do).
As you can see, I can keep going on and on about PSC, but I will get to main point:
They now offer CATERING for special events. Weddings in specific.
Back in December I attended a California Brides Magazine event hosted at The PSC where I met Veronica Romeyn, their special events director. We chatted briefly about their service offerings and menu. With clients who were looking for the perfect short rib to serve on their wedding day, I got excited.
Yesterday's tasting with Veronica at The PSC was a fantastic experience. They certainly delivered to the degree and quality expected from their stellar reputation.
As a planner, I'm incredibly selective on my vendors and I typically stick to my A team players who I know for certain will deliver to the highest degree for my clients. However, when a vendor wows my socks off, I'm happy to make room.
For more information on The Presidio Social Club, contact Veronica Romeyn.
