Aubrey & Matthew {Real Wedding} Holman Ranch, Carmel Valley ,Ca

One statement is only appropriate to describe Aubrey and Matthew, "Beautiful on the inside and out."

It's evident by looking at them through the camera lens how insanely gorgeous they are
(ummm... their engagement photos were only published by Style Me Pretty), but more than that, it's a true gift to be in their presence because their beautiful energy as people elevates your mood instantly. It's couples like these that put a smile on my face and inspire me every day to what I do.

I began working with Aubrey and Matthew in August of 2011 after they set their wedding date for the following June at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA.

Aubrey and Matt are currently in medical school but studying in different fields at Loma Linda University in Southern California, and due to Aubrey's very full study schedule preparing for her medical boards, Matt took the lead in the planning process.  As unconventional as that may sound, Matt rocked and we had the best time. He was decisive, had amazing style and was incredibly thoughtful and detail oriented on each element. He was laid back in his approach except when it came down to Aubrey’s happiness, which was top of mind in every decision.

Like most couples who get married at Holman Ranch, it was important that they focus on only adding to the already existing beauty of the site and not force some awkward theme into the space. It's a gorgeous working ranch perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Santa Lucia Mountain range surrounded by vineyards and is landscaped to the point of perfection.

To kick off their event design, we created a color palette with a base of ivory and brown and added accents of sapphire blue and brick red. We elected to only use Baby's Breath in their floral design because it added so much texture and volume but felt very delicate and different while still keeping everything very neutral.

Aubrey has a deep love for fine vintage jewelry and selected a very beautiful 1940’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring which was the inspiration of hers and Matt’s wedding day attire. She donned a beaded ivory trumpet gown, deep red lips and a bird cage veil. To complete her vintage look she was loaned some statement vintage diamond wedding day jewelry by Fourtane Jewelers. She looked like she stepped out of a movie scene from a classic 40’s love story.  Matthew and his groomsmen looked dashing in Great Gatsby inspired suits and shoes complete with an awesome Fedora hat.

Enjoy their their photojournalistic story of an incredibly romantic day.

Congrats again, guys!
